I’m waiting for the sensible politician to save us from this mess. Instead I am being served up with a creamy excuse for stoicism and economic rationality. It’s all shock horror and suprise from where I’m standing, what with the economic crisis and all that malarky.
I have been using that as an excuse for everything lately. “Would you like pepper with that lobster sir?” - “Hell no” I reply “Economic crisis”. Australia, despite some not so favourable economic speculation going on, has remained untouched by the global crises. It is external one might say from our experience. Floods, and horrible fires aside, it’s been a quiet summer. The money is being hurled at us like not-unrotten eggs.
“How’s work?” My friend asks “Economic crises - gotta keep busy, convince the boss i’m working.” Friend nods in agreement. “Economic crises” We say in perfect text-book synchronicity.
